The Opera House on Washington Square in the center of Newport began life in the 19th century as a the Newport Opera House, presenting touring theatrical productions. It became a movie theatre in the early part of the 20th Century. The movie actress is standing in front of the Opera House entrance in Newport. The movie being shown is the 1919 western Sally Burke of the U-Bar-U, with Louis Bennison.
